Meet Thalia and Norman

Thalia Terrell was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and obtained high school diplomas in both the English and Spanish-language school systems. She graduated from the University of London with a Major in Modern Diplomatic History and a minor in French.

She holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law center in Washington, D.C. and has been admitted to the District of Columbia and Maryland bars.

After working for ten years as a free-lance translator, Thalia founded Pegasus Translations in 1979.

Thalia is a native speaker of English, Spanish and Greek and reads French, Portuguese and Italian.

Norman Terrell was born in Fort Worth, Texas. He is a graduate of the University of Washington in linguistics and holds an M.A. from Oxford University in Russian Language and Literature. During his service in the U.S. Air Force, he attended the Army Language School in Monterrey California, where he studied Polish. While at Oxford University, Norman supplemented his Rhodes Scholarship funds by doing Russian and Polish translations for clients in the U.K.

Norman joined the Foreign Service in 1963, serving in Australia and Poland. In addition to the State Department, he worked during his government career in the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency and NASA. He retired from the government in 1987 as Associate Administrator of NASA and joined Thalia in her translating business.

Norman reads Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Russian, Polish and Modern Greek.
